		<description>Thanks for your interesting post. Having done some research into this for someone else, we found that a) to get your state pension you needed to make contributions for a total of 40 years (5 of these years are given to you FREE by the Government) and b) you are never excluded from paying NI contributions even if you have over 40 years worth as they are still auto-deducted from your pay packet.

However, as always we would recommend contacting Job Centre Plus who will provide more concrete information on this.</description>
